Uganda Free Zones Export Promotion Authority (UFZEPA) is a Statutory Body established under the Free Zones Act, 2014. It develops, manages, and regulates Free Zones to promote export-oriented investment and job creation. UFZEPA is part of the Africa Economic Zones Organisation, World Free Zones Organisation, and the Global Alliance of Special Economic Zones.

The Authority promotes Uganda’s global trade through the EAC Special Economic Zones Policy and the African Continental Free Trade Area regulations.

A Free Zone is a designated geographic area exempt from customs duties and taxes on imported inputs and exported outputs. It aims to support the production of competitive goods and services for export.
